    Good day sir,

from my knowledge users of third party software can be removed by restricting their access to the game because violation of the terms of service that players have agreed on.

Players can also use the report system implemented in the Metin2 Version 25.1 in case of suspicious behavior as GameMasters cannot be reached.

While the possibility of e-mail assistance has been deactivated with Metin2 Version 25.1 the usage of the ticket system is still active.

Cheating is a known big problem to the quality of Metin2 and is to be handled by the publishers and developers of Metin2, but the nature of the game makes it hard to completly prevent.

As of today the introduction of access-based servers like Tigerghost in 2020 have become a solid option for the playerbase that prefer to experience the game with less the impact of third party applications on the game.

"Tiger ghost: less cheaters, more events (need invite code)

Ruby/Emerald: Even less cheaters, more events (paid sub: 5$? A month) ... "

    Conclusion:

Due to the old age of the game and technological restrictions it is unlikely to completly prevent third party usage but the game is very much playable with some small adjustments in terms of gameplay.

I have never heard of any third party applications that have not been traced by the anti cheat yet. In my opinion it is a matter of time that cheaters get caught. The only case in which it is harmful on the longterm is with commerical cheaters since they have stash accounts that look clean bypassing the measures so that they can fuel the black market ...

but they increase the DC voucher prices though :~)

No, no, no… there’s only one problem, and believe me I know a really simple solution for it: they need to start listening to their community the people who have actually played their game for more than 10 years and have real experience.

But why fix or change something that generates really good profit for very little effort each month? *hehe*

I’ve been playing this game since the beginning, and for me it’s now in the best state it’s ever been, except for a few issues like invisible textures where you can clearly see nothing in your path, yet something invisible blocks you and the bot situation (maybe due to lack of staff or they just don’t care or you ban one and another 100 spawn). But since I don’t play on the new servers, most of this goes around me anyway.

It is definitly true that listening to the community will make the game very successful but as you said, that doesn't mean more profit.

Nontheless it is none of our business since nobody is forced to play, right?

I could not bear to play on the original servers either, but that was out of laziness. In the end I would say that all MMO games struggle with cheaters just like other big games. Ofc there are exceptions but playing a perfect game is boring if you'd be asking me. :)

LLM has told me that too much QoL is toxic for the game and reserved for aspects that hinder the game flow.

It becomes toxic as soon as parts of the game are simplified that are inherently part of the game like doing dungeons. E.g. adding QoL to dungeons would - exaggeretly speaking - lead to you paying the entrance fee and then receiving the rewards without having to do anything.

Too much QoL is toxic while too less QoL would make the game feel old/tiresome.

Imagine implementing a huge QoL update that makes the whole playerbase quit the game bc it got too boring ;(
