Improve items movability & automatically stack items in certain conditons

  • Hi everyone,
Just to clarify that this post isn't in regard of many items not being able to stack, I believe there are many post about that already.
This post aims to improve the movability of items.
As we all know, inventory organization is hard, even with the full inventory unlocked. And I'm not only talking about the "main" characters. We all need to have secondary characters and even other accounts to store many types of items and move things around. And that's the reason for the following suggestions:
I'm gonna try to keep it simple and each suggestion would be useful in many ways.

    • When storing items in storekeeper, when dragging a stackable item on top of the same item in storage, make it stack directly instead of having to remove it 1st and then put it back.
The same for the oposite. Trying to put a stackable item from storage on top of the same item in inventory, make it stack directly.

    • To move items now, you use left mouse click on it to pick it up (either holding the click or releasing) and you put it down wherever you want releasing the left mouse click or just clicking again.
My suggestion is to add a Ctrl + left mouse click as a shortcut to move items to and from, that would work when the storekeeper is open, trade window,.. AND when moving the items like that, making them check for stackability 1st until they can't stack with anything else and then put them in the 1st available slot. If there are no slots available, still stack 1st until it can't stack anymore).

    • When you buy something from a NPC shop, player shop, or recieve items via trading with someone, please make the items check for stackability first and always stack them if possible.
(when trading with someone, before accepting, you should always check the trade first but for the sake of checking again after if you really got the items after the trade is made and didn't miss anything. Since the items would now stack automatically and wouldn't know how many of what you already had, you could get an information message in chat with what you recieved like a receipt.

I believe I'm not the only one who would love to see those changes in-game.
Please comment your opinions and other possible ideas.
Lets try to improve the game!

  • God yes, stacking or unstacking items is a nightmare, when you stack items and it keeps giving you an error because you're unstacking more than 1 item every 5 seconds is so annoying, trying to seperate a stack of something in the Bazar is a race against time, will the client freeze before I manage to open my shop???

And for god sake make it easier to get things in and out of storekeeping, it's 2022, make the necessary Quality of life fixes the game needs

  • Getting items out of storekeeper, you can right click the item which then moves the item to the first available spot in your inventory. Probably doesn't stack automatically though.

yeah, the problem is that it doesn’t stack automatically. Let’s say you have a character full of stackable upgrade materials (but not everything is fully stacked).

1st: you can’t trade the items from another char even if only items you know would stack. You have to drop them and pick them up with the other char risking losing many items if someone sneaky picks them up and not even mentioning lag, crashes, possible bots nearby.. anyway, dropping the item to be picked up on the other char shouldn’t even be considered as a solution.

2nd: trading them with a non full char in the same account, storing them in keeper and then with the upgrade material char trying to put them on your inventory, you just can’t. You can’t right click them because there are no available slots. They could stack with what you have but they won’t stack automatically to your inventory. And you can’t even stack them together in the keeper. Your only solution is to store some other items to make space to the stackable one, to then stack them and putting back the other items you stored before to make space. And what if you don’t find the item you want to stack it with in your 180 inventory slot but you know it’s there somewhere? As I said, auto stacking would solve many problems.

  • Nothing is gonna happen. After they red the name of the topic they will not read bellow. This problem is since few years and nothing. So chill and get used to it.

  • What makes me angry is seeing this good quality post from 2022 being totally ignored. What does cost developer to fix such an easy thing as this? And why no admin ever even try to answer us who wants game better?

  • they don't even try to answer, but if you write the wrong thing, if you insult anyone, there you are banned and punished. LoL. Ok.

  • Bruh they cant even get a server proper running with all those bots and yet ur asking for something else ! One step at the time :D

This is the worst management of Gameforge in my 18 years of playng this game !

  • LLM has told me that too much QoL is toxic for the game and reserved for aspects that hinder the game flow.

It becomes toxic as soon as parts of the game are simplified that are inherently part of the game like doing dungeons. E.g. adding QoL to dungeons would - exaggeretly speaking - lead to you paying the entrance fee and then receiving the rewards without having to do anything.

Too much QoL is toxic while too less QoL would make the game feel old/tiresome.

Imagine implementing a huge QoL update that makes the whole playerbase quit the game bc it got too boring ;(

  • No, no, no… there’s only one problem, and believe me I know a really simple solution for it: they need to start listening to their community the people who have actually played their game for more than 10 years and have real experience.

But why fix or change something that generates really good profit for very little effort each month? *hehe*

I’ve been playing this game since the beginning, and for me it’s now in the best state it’s ever been, except for a few issues like invisible textures where you can clearly see nothing in your path, yet something invisible blocks you and the bot situation (maybe due to lack of staff or they just don’t care or you ban one and another 100 spawn). But since I don’t play on the new servers, most of this goes around me anyway.

It is definitly true that listening to the community will make the game very successful but as you said, that doesn't mean more profit.

Nontheless it is none of our business since nobody is forced to play, right?

I could not bear to play on the original servers either, but that was out of laziness. In the end I would say that all MMO games struggle with cheaters just like other big games. Ofc there are exceptions but playing a perfect game is boring if you'd be asking me. :)

  • They do not understand that such a QoL changes would benefit themself, since more player would come back and enjoy a relaxed gameplay and would shop more!
