Cheatblocker - Information about the latest ban-wave

Thank you for your feedback, we have received an overwhelming amount of messages since the latest ban waves have been started this month, and we do take your concerns very seriously.

The Metin2 team has decided to stop all bans as we continue testing and looking into the latest CB updates implemented onto the cheat detection tool earlier this year.

Clarification, a bug was confirmed on the game server side, it was not a problem with the Cheat Blocker side system. Through that bug the false positive detection occurred.

We will update you once we have received results of these tests. Thank you for being a part of the community.

We would like to thank you once again for voicing your opinion and sharing your feedback with us.

Today we proceeded with further checking and evaluation of the latest CB updates, and we noticed a few irregularities in specific cases that require additional testing and investigation. Therefore, we decided to stop the automated system, remove all pending bans from the queue earlier today and to lift all recent bans related to the latest Cheatblocker update.

We are doing this because checking all of the accounts manually would simply take too long, and for the sake of any affected players who were playing fairly, we want to act as quickly as possible. The goal behind having an automated system has always been to do something for our loyal community that has been plagued by bots for far too long, but we want to make sure that there are no false positives, even if it only effects a small fraction of the banned accounts.

For clarity's sake, we would like to point out that this does not mean all of the bans were incorrect – the vast majority of accounts that have been detected were confirmed to be bots after additional evaluations.

We will start unbanning all accounts that have been banned in March 2021 and December 2020 as soon as possible. Unfortunately, it may still take some time until all the affected accounts have been unbanned, but the process has already been started. Please do not submit any support tickets regarding these bans, your case is already being handled and it is not necessary.

Additionally, we will be looking into prior bans (e.g. from last year), depending on the outcome of these investigations. We will provide further details as soon as we have the results.

As this question will certainly come up: we are aware that your pets, costumes, items and so on may have expired while your accounts have been banned. We are looking into possible compensations for the affected accounts as well. Unfortunately, we cannot provide any details at this time. Please stay tuned.

We will update you as soon as we have received further information from our testing and analytic results.

Dear community,

the account bans that were applied by the system in December 2020 and March 2021 are now lifted and the accounts are available again.

As mentioned yesterday, there will be more information available the following days about the compensation, , so please check our forum often for all the latest news. (There is no need to open tickets in the support system about your pets/items etc. as all communication about this topic will be available for everyone to read in the forum).
