Clarification on current active official servers and most populated Kingdom

    I want to ask about the currently active official servers. As far as I am aware the Suba Games and Z8Games (i think is the new name of Suba Games but it could also be its own thing caused from a split, reason being that Suba Games still exist) servers don't exist anymore and only Gameforge and Steam servers are live. Is there no official server hosting for Metin2 in the US? I remember before there was Metin2.us domain which was the main one and Gameforge only took the European hosting.

    Now to my actual questions though. Are the servers I connect to from the Steam client the same as the Gameforge ones and if so which nation is the most popular? Also if I delete my only character can I change my nation?

    z8games servers got moved/transformed into metin2.ca or something( for a quite short period) and then later got "kind of" merged into metin2.us (by gameforge, server name - Anthor) - kind of because only those who applied during a certain period got merged and there were some other restrictions? Not sure if that's the right word but when moved all bonuses were removed from items.

    A few years later Anthor was moved to the UK servers (not even sure if its metin2.uk or .co.uk but that doesn't really matter) but they existed separately but under the same client (I think? Been a while and I forgot tbh). Then later the uk servers the us servers and the two global servers got all merged into one (Universialis) which exists till now.

    Source: am from Anthor, witnessed the recent merges up close and personal; witnessed the z8 merge by all the complaining in call chat ( about lost bonuses and no +5 stones and some other bull**** which now maybe exists only in *illegal places which I'm not allowed to mention here*)


    And to my knowledge all official servers are by gameforge. Steam servers are the same servers - only difference is how you access them (via steam or via GF launcher). And about steam - my recommendation - use the lame launcher cuz playing trough steam gives a bunch of restrictions
