The game crashes very often, like once every 20 minutes

  • As title says, I have had trouble playing the game in the last month.

Sometimes the game just freezes and needs to be restarted, but most of the times the game just closes down. It happens like every 20 minutes but nn very few occations I have been able to play for about an hour before the game crashes again.

I have tried re-installing windows and used the repair function in the gameforge client but nothing helps. I have also tried using ChatGPT, but "he" couldn't help me either, I tried some of the stuff he suggested like starting the game in compability mode, only play in window mode with low resolution, it didn't help ether.

    Please help me

  • Hi,

try the following in game settings (All metin instances should be closed but 1, in order for the settings to apply to all accounts)

    System settings:
    View distance 2
    Fog Off
    Target shadow 1
    Shadow Quality Low
    Effects 3
    Private shops 5
    Item drops 2
    Yang unticked

    Game settings:
    Animations: Performance
    Show: Monster name OFF/ unpressed
    Afk: whatever you please
    auto log out OFF.

Where does your game crash usually? bazar map1 or other maps?
Try those out and let me know. Would be interested to know if the game completely crashes or you just get logged out.
Is your PC/laptop new or old?

    hope it helps

  • Hi

Thank you for the fast response, I will try those settings.

The game crashes on all maps, most of the times the game completely crashes like if you click the X in the top corner. Sometimes the game freezes completely and stops responding.

My laptop is 5 years old

    Windows 11

    11th generation Intel i5

    Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050

  • Its most likely a compatibility issue from the sounds of it, because the game can run okay-ish on 10year old laptops.
maybe windows 11's fault or some recent update?

try to make a ticket to support and ask them for help, they might know something.

    Good luck!

  • The new settings made a big difference at first, I was able to play for 5 hour before it crashed again. After that it started crasching after 20 minutes again.

I will try to install Windows 10 and see if it works any better.

  • I would check the graphics drivers aswell as your directx version plus net framework, try disabling your onboard graphics and use performance mode on windows

    Worth a try

  • I did a rollback of the graphics driver, the game has now been stable since friday morning, not a single crasch.

Thank you all for the help
