Is Berserk Beyond M1 Worth It for Body Warriors?

  • Hello everyone 🙂

I’m a Body Warrior playing on the Sapphire server, and I’d like to ask for your opinions about Berserk.

I currently have Berserk at M1, and I’m not sure if it’s worth leveling it further to G or P. Berserk gives nice attack speed and movement speed, but the extra damage taken can be risky. I’d like to hear how other players handle this, in PvM and PvP. I also know there is an attack speed cap. Because of that, I’m wondering if higher Berserk levels really increase DPS, or if most of the extra attack speed is wasted once you’re near the cap (with gear, bio, green potions, etc.).

    1) PvM (farming, dungeons, bosses):

Does Berserk G or P really improve clear speed, or does the higher damage taken make it uncomfortable on harder maps (like high-level dungeons or Grotto)? Do you stop at M1/G1/M10 to avoid the attack speed cap and extra damage?

    2) PvP (duels, wars):

Do you use Berserk above M1 in PvP, or is it too risky because of the vulnerability? Does the extra attack speed help, or do you die faster? If you don’t use Berserk in PvP, do you rely on green potions instead?

    Thanks!

  • Hi,

Depends on what your plans are. If you just do pvp/pvm/both. Most of the players dont use berserker since you can reach max atack speed and movement speed trough green and purple poitons.

M1 you recive 10% more dmg
    G1 recives 20% more dmg
    P recives 30% more dmg

So you can imagine it is a skill that most of the time is not used or if so just m1.

For low level maps its irrelevant, as well as for low farmers, but as soon as you go higher with the level monsters get a little stronger so might not be worth using it.
    There is a BUT.
If you dont care about reciving more dmg/ you are strong enough/ you like the looks of the skill G1/P you can go for it but tbh you will rarely use it.

    Hope it helps,
    GLHF

  • Thanks for the reply, that helps. 👍

One thing I’m still unsure about is the difference between M1 and higher Master levels (like M10). As far as I know, within Master the attack speed keeps increasing, while the extra damage taken stays at 10%, so M10 should be clearly better than M1 in that sense.

That said, this is also why Berserk feels quite underwhelming to me overall. Attack speed and movement speed can already be achieved through gear, bios, alchemy, and green/purple potions, and there is also an attack speed cap.

Honestly, the skill feels a bit outdated and could use a rework — for example, keeping the speed bonus but reducing or removing the damage-taken penalty at higher levels, or giving it some other meaningful scaling.

  • You are wrong about the recived dmg staying the same. The higher the level of the skill, the more dmg you recive. You can look it up on spanish/romanian wiki there you can see a table with the %.

I would paste you the link but forum wont let me, so you must search it yourself.

  • Thanks for the clarification — you’re right.

I checked the RO wiki table, and the damage taken does increase gradually with the skill level, not just flat 10 / 20 / 30.

For anyone who is not familiar with it, here is a short summary of Berserk damage taken (%) based on the table:

    Master levels:

    • M1 → +12% damage taken

    • M2 → +12%

    • M3 → +13%

    • M4 → +14%

    • M5 → +14%

    • M6 → +15%

    • M7 → +15%

    • M8 → +16%

    • M9 → +17%

    • M10 → +18%

    Grandmaster levels:

    • G1 → +20%

    • G2 → +21%

    • G3 → +22%

    • G4 → +22%

    • G5 → +23%

    • G6 → +24%

    • G7 → +25%

    • G8 → +26%

    • G9 → +27%

    • G10 → +28%

    Perfect:

    • P → +31% damage taken

So yes — M10 is clearly better than M1 in terms of attack and movement speed, but it also comes with significantly more damage taken.

This is exactly why Berserk feels questionable today:

    • attack speed and movement speed can already be reached via gear, bios, alchemy, green/purple potions

    • there is also an attack speed cap, so part of Berserk’s bonus can be wasted

    • meanwhile, the damage taken keeps increasing with every level

Honestly, it’s a bit of a pity that this skill hasn’t been reworked yet.
