The wait is nearly over: the hot new Update 24.3 – Balathor’s Revenge will hit the servers on Tuesday, 15th October 2024! Look forward to tons of new content, bringing even more action and adventure to Metin2!
New Guild Dungeon: Balathor’s Crypt
A gigantic enemy lurks in the depths – the mighty dragon Balathor has arisen from his slumber, thirsty for revenge! The new guild dungeon will take you on an epic battle against this fearsome opponent. But you must meet certain requirements before you can enter. Use the time remaining until the patch releases to prepare yourselves!
You must fulfil the following criteria to be able to enter the guild dungeon:
- A new quest series has been added, at the end of which comes the battle against Alastor.
- Your party must consist of between 4 and 16 players who have all reached champion level 4.
- Your guild must be at least level 21 and all combatants must belong to the same guild.
- The guild must have existed for at least 24 hours, and similarly you must have been a member of it for at least 24 hours.
- You need either 600 guild rank points or the new entry ticket.
Pay a visit to Dragon Watcher Dolnarr to start the dungeon. In the dragon’s icy lair, you can expect an epic confrontation, with fabulous rewards waiting upon success, including:
- Transform with the new Hwacha Polymorph Marble
- Skill books for three new guild skills
- Crafting materials for the new Serpent’s Cowl helmet
- Yang, 1-star catalyst and much more!

New Helmet: Serpent’s Cowl
In Balathor’s Crypt you’ll find crafting materials for the new Serpent’s Cowl helmet, matching the existing Serpent set for characters from level 120.
New Guild Skills
The existing guild skills are now available in all guild dungeons, such as Meley’s Lair, the Palaces of the Dragon King and Balathor’s Crypt. In addition, there are three new skills which can be learned from the drops in Balathor’s Crypt:
- Balathor’s Storm: Grants immunity to fainting and slow.
- Balathor’s Will: Grants immunity to stun, shackle and freeze.
- Balathor’s Resolve: Grants immunity to knockback.
New Community Window
The existing Friends window has been upgraded to a more feature-rich Community window. You can use this not only to manage your friends and block lists, but also make your status visible to other players. Here are two examples of how to use this new feature:
- Activate the Auto-Hunting status, indicating to friends or guild members that you might not be at your PC.
- Activate the Shop in Use status, indicating to your friends that you have goods for sale. They can then see your current location, including channel and map!
Plus there are other improvements relating to blocking players and their actions.

Revamped Game Options
The existing separate menus for game and system options have been combined and overhauled to make it easier to find what you’re looking for. The new menu has four categories: System, Game, Keyboard and Loot. A new Reset button has been added, and any changes you make are applied directly on a per-character basis.
Here are a few highlights from the new options:
- System Options: You can now determine separately whether to completely show or hide Yang drops. This option does not affect your other drop settings.
- Game Options: Block settings have been moved into the new Community window.
- Keys: The menu now scrolls for a better overview.
- Loot Options: If you switch tabs without saving, you’ll now be asked for confirmation.
- Game Launcher: The standard settings for music and sound effects have been turned down for new installations.
Debuff Improvements
Debuffs applied to your target now appear directly below the element buff on the enemy’s health bar. Mousing over it will bring up the debuff’s name and remaining time.
- Once a debuff only has 3 seconds left, its icon will start to flash.
- Debuffs are sorted from left to right according to their remaining duration.
- The poison/bleeding debuff remains as a greyed out icon after expiring, to indicate that it was already applied to this target.
Auto-Hunting Improvements
The Auto-Hunting feature has been improved to make it easier to customise to your requirements:
- You can now set which monster rank and level to attack. (You will continue to defend yourself if you are attacked.)
- You can set your focus to attacking monsters within a certain radius of your current position.
- Your focus area is now visibly highlighted.
- Skills are no longer used if the target is not within range.
- Dew items can be added to the Auto-Hunting slot.
New Attribute: Block Penetration
The new Block Penetration PvP attribute allows you to break through your enemies’ block stat. There are three ways to get the new attribute:
- As a new 1st–5th bonus on gloves and bracelets.
- As an Indigo Wolf Soul buff effect for Lycans from G1 (Grand Master).
- As a potion from the merc system (deployment reward).
Have fun,
The Metin2 Team
