The launch of our new ONYX servers edges ever closer. To ensure you’re well-prepared, we’re going to take a look at one of the first features on ONYX – the new Echoes of Power event!

    Event Rundown

With the launch of the ONYX servers in August, the Echoes of Power event will become permanently available to all ONYX players above level 70. To participate in the event, you will receive a quest from Ah-Yu at level 70 in which you must defeat monsters in your level range. Once you’ve completed the quest, you can choose either an Echo of Strength or an Echo of Talent – pick the one which best suits your class and playing style. After acquiring an Echo, you can add it to the Echoes of Power window to charge it. Depending on the Echo’s level, it can take between 1 and 5 hours of playing time to charge it up. Fully charged, you can then collect your buff which activates one of these effects:

Echo of Strength Increases normal attack damage by a certain factor for a certain number of uses.

    • +0: 1.1x normal attack damage; 500 charges
    • +1: 1.2x normal attack damage; 700 charges
    • +2: 1.3x normal attack damage; 1,000 charges
    • +3: 1.5x normal attack damage; 1,500 charges
    • +4: 2x normal attack damage; 2,500 charges

Echo of Talent Increases skill damage by a certain factor for a certain number of uses.

    • +0: 1.1x skill damage; 50 charges
    • +1: 1.2x skill damage; 100 charges
    • +2: 1.3x skill damage; 150 charges
    • +3: 1.5x skill damage; 200 charges
    • +4: 2x skill damage; 400 charges

If you want to use a higher-level Echo (+1 to +4), you’ll have to upgrade it first before adding it to the Echoes of Power window. Upgrading an Echo requires either an Echo Amplifier or an Echo Enhancer. You can get these from bosses which can be summoned on the ONYX server (more details in a future preview) or from offers in the shop.

    Monthly Reset

    • The event is reset at 5 AM CET/CEST on the 15th of each month. All active buffs remain, and Echoes stay in your inventory.
    • Please note: Quest progress and Echoes currently being charged will be lost during the reset. Please don’t start trying to charge a new Echo if there isn’t enough time to complete it until the event reset. The remaining time for the event is displayed in the event overview in the game.

    Note

This permanent event will launch as an ONYX exclusive. In future it will also be enabled as a temporary event on other Metin2 servers. ONYX players have permanent and early access to this feature.

Today we’re taking a look at some more ONYX features: the NPC Finder & Teleportation are going to make your adventures so much easier!

    New NPC Feature

With this new feature it’ll become child’s play to find NPCs, keep an overview of your quest progress per map, and teleport directly to certain NPCs and maps! Here’s a more detailed overview of what to expect:

    • Bigger resolutions and views for the in-game map
    • A list of relevant NPCs per chosen map
    • The Monster Encyclopedia (including list of item drops)
    • Teleport directly to a selection of NPCs, including in Yohara

    The NPC Finder

In order to access the new feature, reach level 10 on ONYX to receive the NPC Finder as a mission reward in the website pop-up. That permanently unlocks the feature for this character. For further characters, you can pick up additional NPC Finder items for free from the shop, once per day.

From now on, you can switch between the standard map and the new NPC Finder. Please note that the NPC Finder is not available for certain maps and the standard map will be displayed instead.

Viewing the map, you’ll see a list of NPCs on the right-hand side. Clicking through them will highlight their location on the map so you can navigate to them easier.

Handy hint: If you’re in the same region as your chosen NPC, an arrow will be shown at your feet pointing in their direction.

    announcement_metin2_pt_8354213144c0dc46891fbccc1a2d86fa.jpg

    Quest Progress

Each associated NPC will now show a new symbol indicating the quest status:

    • Quest can be accepted
    • Quest in progress
    • Quest complete and ready to hand in

    announcement_metin2_pt_c40af44c3f0ac97c1ec3f5e14290b7fd.jpg

    Teleportation

Using the new map and NPC list, you can now also teleport directly to an NPC of your choice (from a pre-defined list). Here’s how that works:

    • Select your map and then the NPC you want to teleport to.
    • Depending on the distance (same map/different map, same region/different map, different region) you will require 1 to 3 Teleport Stones.
    • Clicking on the teleport symbol next to the NPC name will take you directly to the NPC.
    • After teleporting, there’s a 5 minute cooldown before you can teleport again.
    • If you want to teleport into a dungeon or a region which requires an entry ticket, you can do so if you have the required item. Teleport Stones can be earned through challenges on ONYX, by trading with other players, or from the item shop. Please note that there are certain cases where you cannot teleport, such as:
    • You are in a dungeon or are mounted.
    • You don’t have the required level for the map.
    • You have not reached champion level 1 and you want to teleport to Yohara (i.e. Yohara is still deactivated for you).
    • You’re trying to teleport to an NPC of an enemy kingdom.

    Monster Encyclopedia

Using the new Monster Encyclopedia, you can find out which items can be dropped by any particular monster, with the exception of certain common drops and quest-related items.

Open the encyclopedia by clicking on the bag symbol on the new map, which will bring up a scrollable list of monsters which appear on the map. Select a monster to see the selection of possible reward items which can be looted when you kill the monster.

    announcement_metin2_pt_c68ecb9e4d30408d51d9d1ab04da5e2d.jpg

    Map Fragments

The final part of the new NPC feature we want to highlight are the map fragments, because not all maps are unlocked by default. Certain maps require you to defeat monsters and then piece together the parts of the map to unlock it in the new menu.

This mainly affects regions which didn’t previously display a map. You’ll need 5 different parts. Once you’ve collected them all, go to Uriel and have him combine them together for a small fee.

The pieces are also tradeable, so if you’ve exceeded the level for a particular group of monsters, you can get missing pieces by trading with other players.

    Note

This feature will initially launch as a permanent ONYX exclusive. In future it will also be enabled on other Metin2 servers. ONYX players have permanent and early access to this feature.

On we continue with our third (and final!) preview of the new ONYX features. Summoning bosses allows you to bring your own bosses into the game, defeat them, and scoop up amazing rewards!

    announcement_metin2_pt_e6fd2c9982fed01ba97af1560bbe01ea.jpg

    Summoning Tokens

In order to summon your own boss, you’ll need a certain number of Summoning Tokens. These can be earned by completing weekly missions in the website pop-up.

    • Mission 1: The Power of 10
    • Mission 2: Unravelling the Enigma
    • Mission 3: Eradicate Outposts

Depending on the mission you complete, you will either receive Gold or Silver Summoning Tokens – these are required for the different types of bosses. In addition, you can also top up Silver Summoning Tokens with Dragon Coins from the summoning window, in case you’re missing a few for your chosen boss. Please note: Summoning Tokens are stored as a currency in the summoning window, and not delivered as items in the game.

    Summoning Window

Once you’ve collected a few tokens, it’s time to check out the bosses. Here’s how that works:

    • Bosses are divided into three difficulties – Enigma Temple C (Level 75–90), Enigma Temple B (Level 91–120) and Enigma Temple A (Level 120+). You can filter the list by Enigma Temple to find the bosses that match your current level.
    • Each boss has a certain number of items which you can loot from them. Hover your mouse over the symbol to see the list of rewards which you are guaranteed to receive after a successful battle.
    • Rewards are delivered shortly after the battle by GM mail. In certain cases it could take up to 10 minutes for your rewards to arrive.

    announcement_metin2_pt_5955204a6853a402dbde047587c06f73.jpg

    Summoning Time

Let’s get started! In order to summon your own boss, you must be located in the respective dungeon (Enigma Temple A, B or C).

    • Bosses purposefully cannot be summoned outside this dungeon, to make sure that other players can’t steal your kill, and to prevent your summoned boss being a danger to other players.
    • Summoned bosses always appear in the Enigma Temple’s second combat area, so don’t leave the dungeon or try to enter the Secret Chamber before you’re ready!

Open the summoning window and click on Verify Location. This checks that you’re in an Enigma Temple to avoid having you summon a monster you aren’t actually able to battle against.

After verifying your location, the Summon buttons will be activated – select and summon the boss you want! A few things will now happen:

    • If you don’t have enough Silver Summoning Tokens to summon the boss, you can choose to top up the missing amount for Dragon Coins directly on the website.
    • If you have enough tokens, the boss you chose will be summoned and appears after 5 to 30 seconds. If the boss doesn’t appear after 30 seconds, the costs will not be deducted and you can try it again.

    Rewards

This is by no means an exhaustive list, but here are some of the loot highlights:

    • 100,000,000 Yang
    • Tiger Coins & Gaya
    • Jewellery Boxes and Golden Zodiac Chests
    • Personal Premium Shops
    • Loot Passes
    • Whelp Boxes, Green Fortune Chests and much more!

Please note: Summoned enemies do not drop any loot, provide no experience, and have no impact on events or rankings. All rewards are sent by GM mail and are not influenced by loot or Yang buffs.

    Important Notes

    Fighting with Friends

    • You can enter the dungeon with your friends and battle the summoned bosses together.
    • Both you and your friends can summon bosses to fight and defeat them as a group.
    • However, only the person who actually summoned the boss with their tokens will receive the rewards.

    Boss Summons

    • Each boss can only be summoned once at any one time per group.
    • After defeating the boss, you can then challenge the same one again. Please note however that there may be a delay before the system has recorded that the boss has been defeated and it being ‘free’ to be summoned again.

    Summoning Token Costs

    • Repeatedly summoning the same boss increases the Summoning Token cost.
    • The increase depends on the boss and type of token (Gold Summoning Token costs are fixed).
    • Costs are reset every Sunday at 11:59 PM (CET/CEST) together with the weekly ONYX quests for new Summoning Tokens.
