RUBY Server Access

As mentioned, there are two basic ways for you to join the servers:

1. When the pre-events start, we’ll be offering various packages in the shop which give you access when the servers launch – or even Early Access.

2. Alternatively, you can participate in the pre-events on existing servers and with a bit of luck and skill, earn access from the limited pool.

To make sure you don’t miss anything, we’ve summarised everything running up to the launch of the RUBY servers for you:

Pre-Events

The pre-events before the RUBY servers launch will last for two weeks on all existing servers. This gives you enough time to earn your access and enjoy Early Access to the RUBY servers. But even if you don’t get access, it’s worth taking part in these events for the tons of other rewards!

• Starts: 3rd August 2022, after the maintenance.
• Ends: 17th August 2022 after the maintenance.

What are the pre-events?

Early Access

Play for 1 week before the RUBY servers officially launch and get a head start with the first challenges. In addition, you can look forward to more exclusive challenges only available during this phase. You’re in for a surprise, as the rewards earned during Early Access and then on the servers proper will be larger than you’re used to.

• Starts: 19th August 2022 at 10 AM (CEST)
• Ends: 26th August 2022 at 10 AM (CEST)

RUBY Server Launch

Players who qualify, either through their performance in the pre-events or by purchasing the RUBY Server Access from the shop, will gain access to the RUBY servers, where they can complete exciting challenges, play in permanent and time-limited events, and snap up precious items.

In this FAQ you’ll find all the most important details on our exclusive RUBY premium servers.

Overview

Before reading through all the questions, first take a look at this overview of our RUBY servers which might give you the answers you’re looking for.

*You must already have regular access in order to purchase the RUBY Premium Upgrade.

Early Access

Who can get early access?

• All players who purchase the RUBY Premium Upgrade in the shop enjoy guaranteed early access from 19th August 2022 at 10 AM (CEST).
• The first 500 players per cluster who complete 20 challenges during the pre-event will also gain early access.

How will I know whether I have earned early access?

• In the pop-up window you can see which challenges and rewards you’ve already unlocked at any time.
• This window is displayed every time you log in, and can also be brought up via a button in the interface.
• Information on completed challenges is updated every day at midnight.

Are there any benefits to early access?

Yes. Your progress will not be reset, so you can start levelling up before other players. You can enjoy access to special challenges and rewards, as well as benefit from the chance to participate in more ‘server firsts’ than latecomers.

Is there any advantage to buying access rather than earning it in the pre-events?

Both methods are identical in terms of when you gain early access and what benefits you have in the game. Players who purchase the RUBY Premium Access can also collect a free rewards pack in the shop on their RUBY server every 30 days (limited to a period of 6 months).

When can I purchase early access?

All shop packages will remain available for an unlimited time in the shop, so you can purchase early access at any time, whether before, during or afterwards! Obviously you won’t get early access to the servers if you purchase it afterwards, but you can still collect the rewards packs (as described in the previous question).

Regular Server Launch

Who can take part when the servers launch?

• All players who purchase the RUBY Server Access in the shop enjoy guaranteed access for the full launch from 26th August 2022 at 10 AM (CEST).
• The first 500 players per cluster who complete 16 or 20 challenges during the pre-event will also gain access.
• Several hundred players per cluster will also be chosen at random from all those players who complete 14 challenges during the pre-event and gain access when the server launches.

How will I know whether I have earned early access?

• In the pop-up window you can see which challenges and rewards you’ve already unlocked at any time.
• This window is displayed every time you log in, and can also be brought up via a button in the interface.
• Information on completed challenges is updated every day at midnight.

When will the players who complete 14 challenges be chosen?

The draw takes place on 18th August 2022.

Can a single account earn access multiple times?

Once a player has access on their account, they will not be eligible to receive access again through the random draw. This ensures they don’t take away any chances from other players.

Shop

I’ve earned access to the server but not for early access. Is there a way to gain early access too?

Yes, players can purchase an upgrade in the shop giving them early access.

I only purchased access for the server launch, but would now like to take part in the early access phase. Is this possible?

Yes, players can purchase an upgrade in the shop giving them early access.

I can’t purchase access in the shop (neither standard nor early access). What’s going on?

Players who have earned access through the pre-events are not eligible to purchase access in the shop, avoiding any unnecessary purchases. This also applies to players on servers which don’t have a RUBY server (RU: Россия, GR: Ελλάδα, AE: العالم العربي, Western European Cluster: Tigerghost).

I purchased access but then earned it in the game. What happens now?

As soon as you purchase access, this is unlocked for you and cannot be redeemed. You will receive additional rewards (items in the game) as normal, but you cannot earn access again (thereby taking it away from other players).

Can I transfer access to other players?

No, access is a specific shop item and cannot be traded or gifted in the game.

Servers and Accounts

Do I gain access for my entire account?

Access purchased applies to your game account (note: not your Gameforge account). If you have multiple Metin2 accounts associated with your Gameforge account, please ensure that you purchase access for the account you wish to play on. The same rule applies to access earned through the pre-events. Please also note that access is specific to the cluster, e.g. if you purchase or earn access in the Western European Cluster, this will only be valid for the RUBY server in this cluster.

How many RUBY servers will there be?

There will be one RUBY server per cluster (Western Europe, Eastern Europe, Turkey).

How many characters can I create on the RUBY server?

Each game account with access to a RUBY server can create the usual 5 characters.

Can I participate in the challenges and special events on the regular servers?

No, the exclusive challenges available during early access and after server launch, as well as the rewards for ‘server firsts’ and special boost events, are exclusive to the RUBY servers. On the regular servers you can participate in the pre-events, as well as all the regular events which are active on all servers.

How do I claim my rewards and items from the challenges?

• Pre-event
• The rewards will be sent as soon as you have completed enough challenges. This only happens after midnight, once the challenges are updated.
• The randomly awarded server access for completing 14 challenges only happens after the pre-event phase.
• Server access rewards for completing 16 and 20 challenges are sent immediately as per regular rewards.

• Item rewards are sent to your item depot.

• Early access challenges

• The rewards are sent to your in-game mailbox.

• Server firsts

• The rewards are sent to your item depot.

• Repeatable random challenges

• Challenges: Rewards are sent to your in-game mailbox.
• Rankings: Rewards are sent to your item depot.

Pre-Events

What are the pre-events?

The pre-events before the RUBY servers launch will last for two weeks on all existing servers. During this phase, you can earn early access to the RUBY servers. The pre-events run from 3rd August 2022 (10 AM CEST) until 17th August 2022 (2 PM CEST).

What benefits do the pre-events offer?

Depending on how many challenges you complete, you can earn rewards, RUBY server access or even early access to the RUBY servers.

Are the challenges per character or per account?

All challenges are per character, so you can complete challenges with multiple characters and earn the item rewards multiple times. Note: RUBY server access and early access are the exception to this, as they apply to your entire account, and thus can only be unlocked once. In addition, each game account can only be counted once in the draw for random server access.

What are the challenges?

There are loads of different challenges available – from boss kills and dungeon runs, through to mission book quests – there’s something of everything. More details can be found in the info window in the game, or in our news post.

Clusters

Can players from the servers RU: Россия, GR: Ελλάδα, AE: العالم العربي, Western European Cluster: Tigerghost take part?

Unfortunately, it will not be possible to earn RUBY server access during the pre-events on these servers. However, players can still participate in the pre-events to receive the other rewards.

Can players on these servers purchase access to the RUBY servers?

No, players on these servers cannot purchase the access packs. It is however possible for these players to purchase or earn access with a character on one of the participating servers.

Dear Players,

Young Hero Weapons and Apprentice Chests will be enabled on the Ruby servers. More information about the servers such as challenges and potential rewards during the Early access period will be released soon.

Thank you for your feedback regarding the low mission book drop rate in Dong Gwang Plains. For now we have decided to spawn additional Metins which should increase the drop rate there. We will keep monitoring the situation and make further adjustments if necessary.

Your Benefits

• Every day you can take on 10 special challenges. Complete 2, 5, 7 or all of them to be rewarded with top items.
• Collect extra rewards depending on how many challenges you complete in total (15, 20, 35, 45, 55 or 65).
• Be among the first players to reach certain milestones to earn even more rewards.
• Enjoy the permanent Flower Power Event.
• Loot far more Magic Copper Ore and Dragon Stone Shards than on regular servers.
• Take advantage of amazing boosts:
• Take part in the World Boss Event at the start of a new season.
• Deal masses of damage with the Soul Event.*
• Pick up even more loot with permanently 25% higher drop rates.
• Apprentice Chests and Weapons for Young Heroes are permanently available on the RUBY servers.

Of course, there will also be plenty of Events and Item Drops to look forward to:

Challenge Rewards

In the daily early access challenges, you must complete mission book quests, reach certain levels, destroy Metin stones, defeat bosses and more.

Here is an example for the first day of Early Access challenges

Day 1

1. Complete all other daily challenges.
2. Complete 1 mission book quest (basic).
3. Reach level 20.
4. Destroy 1 Metin of Black.
5. Complete any 2 mission book quests.
6. Destroy any 2 Metin stones.
7. Defeat any 1 boss.
8. Upgrade equipment twice.
9. Buy an item from NPCs 5 times.
10. Sell an item to NPCs 5 times.

Once you’ve completed a certain number of challenges (2, 5, 7 and 10), you’ll receive certain rewards. You can complete up to 10 challenges each day. Each challenge only counts once.

Will you manage to complete all the challenges and get the maximum rewards? Completing 65 challenges each week can earn you even more special rewards. Again, each challenge only counts once.

Server First Ranking Rewards

Be among the first players to reach certain milestones to earn even more rewards.

• Server first rankings start during early access and continue on the live server.
• Only the first players to achieve certain things will be rewarded.
• The complete list of missions and rewards can be found in the game. The rewards include such highlights as the Ordinary Aura Outfit, Bruce’s Shrine, the Seal of the Gods and much more.

*Disclaimer: The Soul Event is planned but can only run if the technical issues we are facing at the moment can be resolved in time. We cannot guarantee that it will run when the server starts.

Dear Players,

Thank you for all of the feedback regarding the Pre-Event and Ruby-Servers. Some of you felt like some of the Pre-Event challenges were too difficult, and those who have not reached Champion Level yet felt left out, saying they don’t really have a chance to also gain a free access to the new servers.

That’s why we will slightly modify the raffle. Players who completed at least 8 of the challenges will have a chance to win Premium Access to the server in the raffle. Players who have completed at least 4 challenges will have a chance to win Normal access to the server in the raffle.

In addition everyone who completed at least 16 challenges will be guaranteed to receive the Early Access reward.

Please check your login pop up on Thursday to see if you won any access to the Ruby Servers (since this is not an item that is being delivered)
